1. M Is for Mama by Abbie Haslberstadt

M Is for Mama

10/10!!! "M Is for Mama" by Abbie Haslberstadt. As a mama of TEN children, Abbie writes in such a way that resonates so well. You will feel understood and encouraged while reading this book. Here is a quote from her book "That last bit is just as key as the first because in a culture in which women click their wine glasses and celebration each night for surviving my kids for one more day, there will be many who oppose of you of motherhood that says that we can do more by Christ strength. Not only that, but there will be many who resent a perspective of motherhood that chooses to grasp hold of something other than the heart and the loss of time, namely, the abundant gems of joy and fulfillment that glitter amidst that every day landscape of lunch prep, potty training and sassy attitudes Sometimes we just need someone to remind us of what an incredibly rad undertaking this whole motherhood gig really is which is where I come in. I’m not even 40 yet so I don’t qualify as age." I WILL read this again and again throughout my motherhood journey. This book is a great gift for any mama.

2. The Resolution for Women by Priscilla Shirer

The Resolution for Women

This faith-based book offers pearls of wisdom and empowering insights that will motivate you to be present In your now, to stop wasting the season you are in and live authentically. Get ready to be inspired and uplifted by this powerful read! Priscilla is excellent with her words and is a master encourager!

3. A Distant Shore by Karen Kingsbury

A Distant Shore

This was my first Karen Kingsbury book I have ever read! I know, I know! Why did I wait so long? This book weaves together themes of love, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit. The emotional depth of the characters and the vivid storytelling will keep you captivated until the very last page. If you enjoy emotionally rich narratives, this book is a must-add to your reading list. Disclosure*$eX trafficking & drugs* Very modestly written though.

4. One for the Blackbird, One for the Crow by Olivia Hawker

This is a tale of survival, forgiveness, and the unbreakable bond between two mothers and their families. Set against the harsh backdrop of frontier life, this novel explores themes of empathy, redemption, and the enduring power of human connection. What I loved most about this book was the western setting and the adventure with each character through learning survival skills on the ranch. A true page turner!

5. Freedom in the Mountain Wind by Misty Beller

This will take you on a journey of courage, resilience, and the pursuit of freedom against the backdrop of the untamed wilderness. This book drew me in with the father/daughter relationship as they endure a tough journey together. Their love and bond were enjoyable for me to read. The main character, a tough as nails young women, also finds unexpected love in this story. If you like adventure and romance, this one is for you.

So there you have it, my top 5 books from last year that left a lasting impression. Whether you're seeking a heartwarming family drama, an inspiring tale of empowerment, or a journey through the rugged landscapes of history, these books have something for everyone. Grab a cozy blanket, brew a cup of tea, and lose yourself in a great new read.
